Tetelestai Capital’s Investment Philosophy

Being successful can have different meanings to different individuals. At Tetelestai Capital, success looks like helping clients achieve their purposes in life by partnering with them to establish financial stability, wealth creation, and a long-term mindset.

Financial markets over time have positive drift. When looking at a chart of the S&P 500 over the last 50 years, the market price has moved up and to the right with a few speed bumps along the way. The portfolios at Tetelestai Capital are managed with long time horizons to allow for clients to capture this positive drift as their wealth accumulates. There are times when markets trend sideways, and there are times when markets trend down, but over long periods of time, the market moves up and to the right. The key is to keep clients invested during the bad times to capture the better times ahead.

Though it is not for everyone, Tetelestai Capital firmly believes in actively managing portfolios. From 2009-2021 passive management was the best thing an investor could do as the fees for managing portfolios were low, and the global economy was experiencing major tailwinds from technology, globalization, and coordinated quantitative easing by central banks. This led to markets moving up and to the right aggressively with very little interruption. However, times change and so do investment environments. Tetelestai Capital was built on the thesis that the next several decades will look much different from the last. During the 1960’s through the 1990’s, actively managed portfolios performed extremely well. It is not a surprise that was the same time frame that produced famed investment managers like Warren Buffet, George Soros, and Julian Robertson, to name a few. This was also a time of volatile interest rates, volatile inflation, and global conflict. I believe we entered a similar environment in the 2020’s that will last for years to come. This will be the new age of active management, and Tetelestai Capital is positioned to help clients take advantage of this investment environment.

“For the Spirit that God has given us does not make us timid; instead, His Spirit fills us with power, love, and self-control.”
